Revolution Guided Tours

We invite you to relive the moments that changed destinies and understand the sacrifice of those who fought for freedom.

 

The guided tours recreate the dramatic route of the first days, of the first Romanians who cried out against the dictatorship in 1989. You will hear authentic stories documented by Prof. Adrian Kali, an active participant and Revolution History PhD.

 

The free tours* will take place from December 15-21, 2024.

 

Route: Maria Square - Maria Bridge - Metropolitan Cathedral - Victoriei Square - Lenau Street (In Memoriam monument) - Libertății Square - St. Gheorghe Square

 

Duration: approx. 1:30h

Freedom 35

This year marks 35 years since Timisoara, through courage and unity, definitively changed the fate of Romania, paving the way towards democracy and Europe.


Timisoara marks this moment with a series of events that remind us of the significance of December 1989, through the lens of the present, responding to the themes that produce anxiety and hope in our society.
