Ilie RĂDOI

Hello, my dear friends,

I am Ilie Rădoi (aka “Ilie with a hat”) from Timișoara, Romania – European Capital of Culture in 2023.

I am a national licensed tourist guide (license no. 4756/2014), a member of the Professional Tourist Guides Association “Pro Guide România” since 2019.

I was born and raised in a small spa resort, located in the South-West of Romania, a mountain area, but still close to the Danube shore.

I can say that from an early age I knew that I wanted to work in tourism. I have started working as a tourist guide since high school, to present my hometown to visitors.

Since the beginning – now I do have more than 10 years of experience – I have tried to understand what expectations people have when visiting Romania, what do they want to know about our history and culture and try to help them to return home with a lot of beautiful memories about my country.

I will share with you all my knowledge and will ramble together to find the tracks of medieval history, discover the unique cultural heritage or enjoy the tastes and flavors of the traditional Romanian food and wines. Also, I can introduce you to Romanian heritage, where everything can be found, from remote villages in the mountains, medieval citadels, to unique fortified churches and amazing orthodox monasteries, and not forget about breath-taking gorges, unique delta, rare castle, and collections with fabulous architecture, wine cellars, gastronomy, in simple words a mysterious world of legends and fairytales.

Besides Romanian, I speak English and French. I can provide accommodation, driving, and transportation, in order to give tourist assistance to those wanting to discover Romania.

I hope to see you soon on one of our trips!

Your tourist guide,

Ilie
